Updating Group Info

Updates to the info regarding your student group -- including but not limited to a change of financial officer -- are handled through myGroups. The group's president or financial officer should login by clicking the button near the top right corner of the myGroups page and proceed to editing the appropriate details of the registration.

For leadership transitions at the end of the year, rather than modify the existing registration, the current president or FO should select the option to create a new registration for the next school year. This should be completed each spring even if the group's officers are not changing.

Registering Your Student Group Online

Registering your student organization gives your group access to the privileges and services Stanford provides. Some of the resources available only to registered student groups include:

Use of the Stanford name and logos.
Use of University facilities.
Audiovisual and technical services.
Table check-out offered by Tresidder Meeting Services.
A listing in the Stanford Directory (if done by October 16).
University website space.
University insurance.
Access to University and ASSU funding.
Banking services at the ASSU.
Ability to hold benefit fundraisers (limited to one per year).
Advice and consultation from OSA, the ASSU and many other University departments and programs.
The ability to publicize on Events at Stanford.

Every academic year, active student organizations must re-register. A student organization must have at least (6) registered Stanford students as members in order to complete the registration:

President
Financial Officer
Calendar Administrator
(3) Charter Members

Only the President or the Financial Officer are permitted to complete the application.

Be prepared to include the:

name of the organization
names and email addresses of President, Financial Officer, Calendar Administrator, and (3) Charter Members
a brief description of the organization
an organization email address (optional)
an organization web address (optional)
